RF and EO/IR Mixed Sensor System for Human Target Detection and Geolocation
I-PIRATE is a radio frequency (RF) and Electro-optical/Infrared (EO/IR) mixed sensor system for human target detection and geolocation in GPS-denied environments.
IFT’s self-developed secondary radar subsystem can detect friendly targets at a distance of up to 25 meters. Moreover, this radar subsystem functions normally when the friendly target is behind two drywalls.
IFT has successfully developed an EO/IR subsystem for human target detection and LOS friend and non-friendly target discrimination. The machine learning-based algorithm is implemented in the software package for human target detection. Different measurement ranges have been achieved with different camera and lens combinations.
