At IFT we are looking for a short-term contractor to assist in the upgrade of our HPC environment. Our clusters consist of both CPU and GPU nodes for webhosting and computational resources. This will require a deep knowledge of both hardware and RedHat software.

The candidate is expected to possess the ability to work in a team environment as well as independently, and assist in the hardware and software upgrade of our HPC environment. This position typically requires a B.S. degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience. We a seeking someone who can expand and security harden our private server which hosts our web-application demos, private cloud, private git, and other company services.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Plan, setup, install, configure, administer, troubleshoot HPC systems hardware and/or software.
  • Integrate HOC and GOU environments
  • Setup private git

  • Establish user accounts with different permissions
  • Plan and provide documentation for server backups
  • Plan and provide documentation antivirus systems

At IFT a Technical Communication Specialist is a research administration role that acts as an intermediary between clients and engineers. This position often describes complex scientific or technical topics, so the successful candidate must have experience with scientific or technical writing and can quickly grasp the overall product vision. This position is highly engaged in team communications that occur throughout proposal development to ensure timely and effective submissions. Thus, having good management, organization, communication, and technical writing skills is essential.

The candidate is expected to possess the ability to work in a team environment as well as independently, and contribute to innovative ideas/writing in order to improve proposals. This position typically requires a B.S. degree or higher with 6+ years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience (Research Masters or Ph.D preferred).

Job Responsibilities:
  • Leading and supporting research proposals including: (1) coordinating, providing original and innovative ideas/writing, gathering datasets, identifying resources and editing of non-technical sections, (2) support for technical sections as requested, (3) strategies for marketing/incorporating graphics and figures into proposal documents, (4) coordinating and planning meetings with the research team, developing a roadmap to meet proposal submission deadlines.
  • Interfacing with customers to ascertain the design requirements.
  • Documenting and communicating design choices to fellow engineers and the customer.

At IFT we are looking for someone who is curious and loves problem solving to join our small but growing hardware and signal processing team. The wireless/radar engineer will support out R&D of projects in the areas of hardware design, production, testing, simulation, and data fusion. Our team performs radar systems end-to-end design for in-house designed application based products. Our customer needs are constantly changing, therefore this position will require the application of radar and signal processing fundamentals to a variety of radars and related fields including Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR), LIDAR, and LFMCW. In addition to hardware development the position will require data and signal processing of the radar technique applied and optimization of signal/data processing.

This position is highly engaged in team communications that occur throughout product development in our highly dynamic small-business environment. Thus, having good management, organization, communication, and technical writing skills is essential.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Conduct radar systems assessments and trade-offs of off-the-shelf and in-house radar systems.
  • Contribute to or lead radar hardware protype development
  • Contribute to or develop system models in detailed high-fidelity simulations written in MATLAB and other common industry applications.
  • Apply SAR image formation and exploitation knowledge to assess and develop signal processing algorithms to support operational implementations and studies.
  • Develop test plans, conduct tests, and analyze results to verify, and validate radar sensor and signal processing algorithm performance.
  • Prepare, present, and participate in project design reviews and peer reviews for all phases of radar/SAR development tasks.

Qualifications & Skills:
  • Master's, or Ph.D. in electrical engineering, math, physics, or related field
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in radar systems end-to-end design, development, and/or assessment, through modeling and simulation
  • Experience in developing techniques for radar signal processing, with specific emphasis on SAR
  • Demonstrated leadership as well as workload, time, and resource management abilities
  • Proficient in MATLAB simulation and modeling
  • Prior coursework or experience in areas of digital signal processing, probability theory, stochastic signal processing, and electromagnetic theory
  • Independent, self-managing, and self-motivated

Additional Differentiators:
  • Detailed knowledge of the MIMO system and space-based radar systems
  • Experience supporting SAR use cases in the Intelligence Community or Department of Defense
  • Experience in creating efficiencies or novel techniques in collection, processing, and exploitation of Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) data
