Interference of satellite communications is a frequent and ongoing concern for both DoD and civilian enterprises. Geolocation of the interfering source is an essential step in mitigating or eliminating the interference and restoring operation of the communications service. This SBIR topic seeks to develop a rapid differencing method of positioning interference signals transmitted over satellites during periods of unavailable adjacent satellites due to frequency, positioning, or lack of reference emitters. We propose a solution called “TRIG” for a single satellite to geolocate adjacent space-based EMI sources. The TRIG unifies lower resolution and higher resolution geolocation methods.
