On June 13, 2024, IFT was awarded an Army SBIR Phase I contract to develop the “MISA: Magnetic Induction Scanned Array for Self-Contained Long-Range Communications.” This innovative project aims to create a robust, energy-efficient communication system utilizing Magnetic Induction (MI) technology, which offers reliable and covert communication capabilities in environments where traditional RF signals are ineffective. The MISA system is designed to achieve a wireless communication range of up to far distances, operate autonomously for several hours, and serve a variety of applications, including military covert operations, industrial monitoring, and smart city infrastructure.
