As part of the NSBA delegation, IFT participated in several activities aimed at providing small-business owners the latest updates on federal legislation, as well as increasing policymakers’ awareness of critical small-business issues. During a briefing at the White House, the delegation heard from a host of administration officials including Administrator Linda McMahon from the U.S. Small Business Administration, Amelia Breining from the U.S. Trade Representative’s Office, Tony Sayegh from Treasury, and Andrew Olmem from the National Economic Council. The following day, IFT participated in a Congressional Breakfast featuring Sen. Jeanne Shaheen (D-N.H.), and Reps. Scott Tipton (R-Co.) and Rod Blum (R-Iowa). IFT then met with the offices of Sens. Benjamin Cardin and Rep. John K. Delaney where IFT talked about tax reform 2.0, the need for a White House Conference on Small Business, reining-in health care costs, federal contracting and much more.
