On Jan 9, 2024, IFT received an USSOCOM SBIR Phase I contract “HyLEAF-NAV: Real Time Hybrid Learning Enhanced Adaptive Filter Based Predictive Error Correction for Special Operation Vehicles Navigation.” Special Operation Vehicles (SOV) have recently proven effective in diverse Department of Defense missions across various environments. While most existing navigation algorithms for SOVs rely on INS/GNSS measurements closely tied to GPS availability, an alternative approach is explored by Intelligent Fusion Technology, Inc. and the University of Nevada, Reno. Their proposal involves developing a novel hybrid learning enhanced hierarchical multi-layer adaptive filter-based Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) error pattern identification and predictive error correction algorithm for SOV applications, incorporating advanced technologies such as machine learning, adaptive filtering, and real-time GPS jamming/interference detection.
