I-BEAM is a proprietary hardware modem for Space to Ground Link System. I-BEAM uses SSB waveforms to reduce the bandwidth, and therefore improve spectrum efficiency for SGLS applications. The hybrid waveforms cut the required bandwidth in half, with similar BER as traditional DSB waveforms.
