On Dec. 6, 2023, IFT received Army STTR Phase I contract “SAM-ACE: Situation-aware Hierarchical Hybrid LeArning-based Modeling and Robust Adaptive Control of Autonomous LEgged Robots.” Currant quadruped robots face limitations in adapting to challenging environments, hindering their effectiveness in military operations. Intelligent Fusion Technology, Inc. (IFT) and the University of Nevada, Reno (UNR) propose a collaborative effort to develop an intelligent learning-based control algorithm, aiming to improve real-time dynamics modeling and enhance control across challenging terrains. The expected outcomes include a solid theoretical foundation for robust control of autonomous-legged robots, advancing legged robotics system development, and maintaining U.S. leadership in the field.
