Dr. Zhang introduced his work on signal processing for radar and communication. Dr. Zhang’s research interests are in the areas of statistical signal and array processing, compressive sensing, time-frequency analysis, machine learning, and optimization applied in for communications, radar, satellite navigation, and radio astronomy.  His publications include 110 journal papers, 14 book chapters, and more than 240 peer-reviewed conference papers. He was elevated to IEEE fellow in November.
